90 ranger tail gate

my tail gate has the aluminum panel covering the center area. Mine has a thick coat of black paint. I want to remove the paint without damaging the aluminum panel. what's the best way to do so?

Try brake fluid and a plastic scraper.

They have liquid paint stripper that you can brush on and let sit for a couple minutes, then it just wipes off. Just don't get it on anywhere else that you don't want the paint to come off of.

You should clear coat it afterwards regardless of what way you use.
