As I drove the truck the other day I noticed it seemed to cut out when I hit bumps. It did through a CEL and I'm currently working on pulling the codes. I drove on and got to where I needed to go it sat there for about an hour before I got back in to drive home. On the drive home it ran great no CEL no cut out on bumps and I took the bumpiest road I know. As a came to a stop in town the truck died. Of course it did this in the middle of a busy intersection. Luckily some nice guys in a car with flashing lights helped me push it out of the road. I tried restarting it and though it turned over fine it never fired up. I didn't hear the fuel pump kick on either. I sat in it for a few minutes and got it to start once but it died right away. So I walked home and waited for about an hour or so and went back. Fuel pump kicked on and truck started and ran all the way home. So there you have it. Ideas? The truck is a 2.3 4x4 with a fm145 manual.

there's an inertia switch on the passenger side floorboard which cuts out if you get in a wreck, yours could be faialing, try unplugging the connector and jumping it with a paper clip or something and see if your problem goes away

it's either that or a loose wire somewhere that was rubbing on something or just broke

I have replaced more inertia switches than I can remember, on one ranger by a customers demand I just deleted inertia switch and wired it to a idiot light oil pressure sensor (now I test the idiot light oil pressure sensor on the same truck while doing an oil change, 20,000 miles later it still works), that truck would kill an inertia switch in about a 1000 miles every time, tried cheap ones, tried the expensive ones, didn't matter around a 1000 miles it's done.
