My transmission just went out in my ranger. I just bought a friend of mine dads explorer he had sitting collecting dust in the back yard has everything and is running fine nothing wrong but body work for $350. need info on everything i will need to do to swap this over. And will I need a driveshaft etc. searched on forums but they were all different year vehicles. if someone could point me in the right direction that would be highly appreciated. This is my only source of transportation and thought the $350 for the v6 manual swap was a good price and wouldnt be too hard from the other write ups ive read considering i have everything from the donor vehicle at my disposal

Why not just fix the bodywork and drive it. I bought my explorer with the idea of doing a similar thing to you but decided to fix the body and drive it, I think I made the right decision, they're a good truck.

the body work is unrepairable. and is a parts vehicle only. the title owner of the explorer is the guys son and hes stationed on the other side of the US. Need to do this asap tho. Moving on the first so this must be done asap.
