2 quick questions:

How many gallons does the fuel tank hold?
At what milage should I consider a timing belt/water pump change?

Got a '90 XLT,2.3,auto.,2wd.-not a super/extended cab

My old 1990 reg cab long bed XLT 2wd was, if I recall correctly, around 16 gallons.

I had 200,000 miles on my original water pump, but that was a 2.9L. I would be more concerned about how long the transmission will last (I got 163,000 out of mine).

timing belt somewhere between 60 and a hundred thousand, better to change it before it really needs it. Water pump, if it's internal then change it at the same time you change the timing belt. If it's external, wait till it fails.

I kind of figured that milage window for the t/b martin,as I recall my Mazda,a Toyota, and a Honda calling for it around that time.I'm a firm believer in p/m with a used vehicle. My o/d is at a little above 94,000.Guess I'll start gathering parts together.
