204K miles, tranny and motor strong I'm not ready to give up yet ; I have random leaks (for a few minutes) around the regulator valve or upper fuel rail connector (bad o-ring?) then it stops. Its always on a cold start and sometimes on a warm start after I stop - again its not constant.
-I'm on my second regulator valve
-recently replaced the fuel filter

Could my fuel pump be sending to much pressure on start-up? What other sensor could be causing this engine start issue? I hoping its not the upper fuel rail, they don't make those anymore.

hmm interesting problem second regulator huh? I would have said its the regulator but since you said 2nd im not sure fuel pump pumping more pressure hmmm I dunno about that maybe google it? lol google is a good tool imo lol hahaha but are you sure its the reg maybe not a connection or somthin else?

Hot Damn - Fixed

It was a cracked connector (90 degree elbow) leading off upper rail into FPR. Pulled a 92 upper fuel rail from a 4.0L Explorer at salvage, which had the newer threaded design, Autozone for a new Sorenson FPR and BINGO.

Runs soooooo much better.
