I checked all of the fuses they were good light and gauge work still no charge. I was told to check the connectors to the alt.

Hmmm.
Trust me on this one okay?
Start your truck, VERY CAREFULY get a long screwdriver and touch it to the back of your alt where the rear bearing is (the center). If its magnatized, ie screwdriver tries to stick to the tin bearing cover, its charging.

Key on engine off test.
Take a test light and make sure you have 12V at the two big wires on the alt ( not sure on colors). It has to have voltage to charge.
Try that. Hope it helps.

I think i may have a ground problem anyone know where the grounds are located?

Your standing on it!!! Haaaa haaaa haaaaaaa.
Just kidding.
I have no idea where stock ground cables are....
Use a set of jumper cables to go from battery straight to the alt body!!!
