I have an '89 Ranger, 2.9l, 4x4 with 165,000 miles on it. I did a tune up a couple of years ago with the basic low cost parts...(plugs,wires,etc). What I'm asking is, are there any recommended plugs, wires, etc. that I should use even if it costs a bit more? I'd appreciate some feedback from you "pros" out there. For the last year or so my ranger has been "bucking" or "missing" whatever you want to call it at driving speeds, it doesn't do it if I get in the gas, so I'd like to put some good parts on it. Also can you recommend a good fuel injector cleaner. I've always heard Lucas is good. Anyway, thanks for the input...Dave:icon_confused:

I always use autolite platinium plugs and wires that i get at advance auto. Dont forget to get a cap and rotor button when u tune it up. As for fuel injector cleaner seafoam has the best results for me but any name brand one works fine!

lucas oil stablizer is amazing and for injector cleaner if you wanted to use something like b-12 that works good but they also have some cheaper options like off the shelf stuff at you neighborhood wally world. but like most things with cars, you get what you pay for. if you really want good parts then go with the big established name brands like msd for the wires and rotor and dizzy accel is also a good brand for ignition stuff. but before you get some parts check reviews online. but with that remember that there will always be at least one person that dislikes everything no matter how good it is.

Stick with Motorcraft plugs...can't get any better than OEM.
