89 ranger SAS build

Have to say it looks really good, I might break down and buy a long arm set-up when I do mine though the prices of them are high, it looks like the easiest rought. I'll look up that iron man long arm set-up.

As far as the brakets, are those the 2.63 ones from ballits fab? I ordered the wider ones from them and may have to sell off those to get the ones made for the long arms.

All I'm going for is a little lift and to fit 31's maybe 33's.

Yes those are the 2.63" wide. The ones you got sould be wider and could work with some spacers.
The Iron Man Long arms are awsome. They raised the price of them after I ordered mine. Guess I was lucky to get them when I did. You will really like the adjustments of the Iron man arms than trying to figure out the bracket placement for what you wanted to do.
I wanted to get 33's for my build but where I work, I got the 35's for damn near free. Couldn't pass it up so I had to build it around the tires.

So how is the truck so far? What did you end up using for your front driveshaft, I figure I'll just get my extended.

I think within the next month of saving up my paychecks I'll buy a set of long arms. Do you by chance have the part number of the ones you ordered?

Here is the link to the Iron Man arms.

He really raised the price. I paid $400 plus $50 shipping. Still worth the price for what you get. These are super heavy duty. There are cheaper arms out there if you don't plan on any hard wheeling.
The driveshaft? Well I have one in mind from the local junkyard. $45 not to bad for it. But I am thinking of swaping transmissions. I have a TK5 in right now and want to put the M50 (that I rebuilt and converted to 4wd) in. My clutch needs replaced badly. It slips even more since the bigger tires. So which either transmission I use I will have to modify a driveshaft, so I am thinking of trans change and shorten the rear driveshaft. I need to get it done soon because I have a trip planned to the Badlands July 4th weekend.

I changed shocks around yesterday. Put the nitros in the rear and the hydro in front. It seems to ride better this way so I might just leave it. Spray bombed it also so its all one color now instead of 4 different colors.

its you have ever try to make a site and put all your pictures The interior has

I dont live to far from the Baddlands, I wanna go there one day just to check it out and get my truck dirty, but my truck is in no condition to be going there right now, my front U-joints on my D28 are all shot to hell except my drive shaft one that connects to it, so the only 4wd action it can see is very light duty.

I would be careful using wheeling with 35 inch tires on a D30, but then again you only have a 2.3 under the hood of your truck so you might be ok.

As far as as you getting rid of your TK5, if you plan on getting rid of it, tell me, I might take it off your hands (with transfercase of course), looking into getting a 5 speed tranny for my truck. But are you sure its a TK5, just wondering due to the year of your truck, i heard that they quit putting TK trannies in rangers in late 85.

Yeah its the TK5 the tans and case came out of a 84 B2. When I do take it out I will give you a buzz if your still interested. It will need some new bearings though.

nice man.. impressed with the ford emblem? lol

No problem on the bearings, they cant be to bad to replace.

x2 on the action pictures.

It is killing me not having the front driveshaft in. Have had many chances to test it out with all the rain we have gotten the last few weeks. Guess I better start working more overtime.

Im told that its like $50 -100 to get a driveshaft lengthed to what you need but due to you swapping tranies soon that also changes the type of drive shaft you will be using due the the outputs of the trannsfer cases being different from the tranny you have now to the one you will be putting in.

might have missed it. but what springs are you using with that setup?

looks like its gonna flex like no tomorrow!

The coils are the 73-79 Bronco/F150 4" Deaver Superflex and the rear are stock Chevy 63"

This weekend I think I will be pulling the transmission out. I am running out of time to get 4wd working. I need to take and post some pictures of what I've gotten done so far.

Well, not going to flex much till I get the fenders trimed. I had some landscaping bricks in the bed a couple weekends ago and the tires were rubbing on fender corners.
