89 Linked Ranger Build (LOTS of pics)

I am in just total awe of this ranger, i really like the TCase shifter I am also in total awe of the fab work that you two did, man you guys are freakin insane

Thanks Kdawg!!!!! We appreciate the positive comments!!!

As for the tire size, those are just 31's. But the truck is being built for 35" Boggers, as soon as he can afford it.

not too bad! i wish my bro was into wheeling....i blame the rap music

What material did you use for your links, cross member, and bracing?

I would also suggest adding some additional gussets and bracing for that lower link corr member.

It's all 1/4" wall, 1.5" I.D. DOM tubing, and the majority of the brackets and stuff are made from a sheet of 3/8" mild steel.

The lower link crossmember is pretty solid, and it's going to get tied into another crossmember as soon as we redo the front suspension.

That is one bad ass build. Nasty looking ranger. Your F150 looks pretty nasty too. Keep up the awesome work. :headbang:

Thanks guys!

Anyways, we have a bit of progress. My brother painted and mounted the steering wheel from a '79 Bronco!!! And yes, I know the red looks like Christmas with the green steering wheel, but all the red interior stuff will eventually get replaced with aluminum panels and whatnot.

And then we decided that we wanted the GouletFilms.com logo on the truss.... And instead of painting it on, we decided to cut it out!! Here's the logo I'm talking about (minus the pictures around it and the cursive writting):

So then, I made a stencil and painted the logo onto the piece of steel.

And then I started drilling and grinding and whatnot! Here's an in-progress picture:

And hours later, here it is done:

That's what I did this afternoon (my day off). As soon as my brother gets home from work, we'll probably head back in the garage!

Thanks man!!!!

Nothing major, I just drilled out some holes while my brother finished all the welding on the rollbar/tire carrier.

Next step is to weld those plates in between the truss and the axle housing. Then it's a matter of fabing up the disc brake brackets, a few other finishing touches, paint everything, and throw it back together!!! Can't wait to get out and do some more 4x4ing!

Man that's badass! How did you remove the metal from the thin areas?
