I am not sure which section this should go in, but this one seems logical. And yes I searched for about 45 minutes with no answers.

I have a 93 4x4 extended cab, and want to get a 3" body lift. the local wrecking yard has a 92 Ranger with a 3" body lift.
My question is, what is the difference between a 3" body lift for a 88-92, and that of one for a 93-94? I notice the places I have loked online have a kit for 83-88, 88-92, 93-94 and so on. I would really like to get the one off this truck at the wrecking yard, but don't want to go through the trouble of taking it off if it isn't going to work on mine.

Thanks

I think the only difference is the bumper brackets and possibly the bolt length.

Ok, cool thanks. So the lift/ spacer things (what actually lift the body) should be the same, right?

Do'h!

My uncle owns the yard I was going to get it at and one of my cousin's friends fell in love with the truck it was coming off of (92 4.0l, Manual tcase, regular cab, everything you could want...) since that guy works there, he got to it before me...

You're better off just buying a kit I think. The amount of time your gonna spend taking it off and then putting if back on you could just save a bit more and order a new kit. My truck came with a 3" body lift and Im cutting my blocks down. So far its been a heck of a job just getting the box off, it'd be harder without help too.

That is actually what I was trying to tell my dad but he still thought it would have been worth it to take the one off the truck at the yard. I asked him if he wanted to help me and he said not really... I am almost glad they sold the truck...

To me it is worth the $120 to buy the lift new. You save so much work taking it off (I would have had to take it off in the pouring down rain in a bunch of grease and oil..), AND you get new, clean parts to work with!!
