88 t-bird 302 into 88 ranger

If you're doing a frame off job, then it's nothing you can't handle.

After two spine surgeries and a shit load of physical theropy i'm ready to start my project again. I pulled the tranny and engine last weekend and called the wrecking yard to pick up whats left of the T-bird. took a a few pictures and I will post them as soon as I get them downloaded.

I Have read all the postings and it's good to here that more people are attempting this build good luck to all of you.

Anybody out there that has used Tri-Y headers using an AOD transmission?

I am using them for mine. I haven't done the mod to make them fit yet, but the issue is the large tube is so close to the transmission. My thinking is to cut a pie slice out of the header tube and then re-weld it so it points away from the trans. Not sure yet if it needs to go down or to the side. What really sucks in my case is my headers are plated and really purdy. Won't be after re-welding. Long as they work.

Havent seen too many tri-y pics with installs, but the AOD is a fairly popular choice. Want to change out to one one i get tired of the T5 and replacing clutches.

Used the Advance Adapters setup and sped up the drop in process...

Replacing clutches ? Are you using the stockers ? Been-there, done-that. Bit the bullet and bought a Centerforce Dual Frcition setup. That cured that problem for good.

Probably get a centerforce for the next replacement. Heck of a beefy clutch. Installed a Ford racing clutch after the 20 yr old clutch finally went out and didn't think it would involve spreading the frame support down and outward just to get the belhousing to clear. The other option was to pull the motor back out.
