I got a 1988 ranger 108" 4x4 that needs a new gas tank.
anybody know where I can get one that's not too expensive
I tried orielly and autozone and the only one they list for 108" wheelbase says "WILL NOT FIT IN 4X4"

thanks

Try advance auto parts or a junkyard....

What's wrong with yer gas tank? Can you get it hot tanked at a radiator shop?

it's got a million little rust holes in it

I just got an email from a guy who sells the Spectra brand and he says there is no tank available from them

all the trucks in the yards around here are 114" wheelbase and that uses a 51" tank
the one I need is 45" long

thanks any other suggestions

classic is LMC.

I'm not familiar with LMC, LMC.com doesn't work
classictruckparts.com didn't work

got a web address for LMC?

thanks

well thanks for all the response guys
LMC only lists the 17 gallon tanks too

I guess I'll have to try and fix the rusty one, doubt it'll work though, it only holds about 3-4 gallons of gas the way it is now, any more than that and it leaks

thanks again

108" wheel base, which body is that?

which body? I don't know, looks like a 88 ranger short bed short cab
cute little truck, somebody did a bondo job on all the rust and repainted it
it looks pretty decent for a 22 year old truck
it also runs great, has new clutch, brakes,50% tread on tires, new exhaust, new timing belt, she's ready to run.
only thing the PO forgot to mention, it only holds 3 gallons of gas at a time!

I took a closer look at the old tank today, it has 14 rust holes I can see, without cleaning the rust off it, including one 2-3" hole right around the bung for the sending unit.

I don't think I can mix enough JB Weld to seal it back up

any ideas for homemade gas tank?
I'm thinking of something with a 12 gallon boat tank or something?

don't home-make a gas tank, just buy the plastic tank they use in the modern single cab shortbed trucks and fab up a way of mounting it.

where do you suppose I could get a newer tank, I can't find one of those anywhere
