88 ranger 302 swap

Hey guys i'm new to the site and hopefully you all can help me with this. I have a 88 ranger and right now it has a 2.3l with a M5OD-R1 trans, I also have a 88 Lincoln Town car, with a 302 and auto trans ( not sure exactly what it is). I'm wanting to do a 302 swap with the ranger and so far i know that the 5 speed in the truck now wont last because of the torque for the 302. my question is will the bell housing on the trans from the Lincoln clear the fire wall on my ranger?
