This Thread is Not Dead
Well well well...3 years later. What the hell happened to this truck? It got pushed on the back burner so i could build a honda...
Bad decision.
But tax time has brought a revival upon this beast.
So since then i got 15x10 Dick Cepek DC2's and wrapped them in 31x10.5 Bridgestone Dueller Revo 2's and basic things to keep it running.
The Truck has always had a misfire in the engine, small but noticeable. After a compression test my fear was confirmed in the upper end of the engine.
After many long days and nights of considering what to do with this damn truck my answer came to me.
One of my good buddys had a Foxbody Mustang project that took a turn for the worse after he bought a chevy...
So im currently working on purchasing an 89 5.0 HO with a t5 to slap in this truck.
The engine is completely torn apart and has been machined and ported. The only thing it needs is a camshaft and assembly. I'm planning on buying a comp cams extreme energy camshaft and his dad and i will be assembling this beast. Plans are to buy the adapter plates and mounts for the 5.0 in the ranger as well as the oil filter relocation.
So we will see how this deal goes and hopefully by the end of summer i will have a 400+ hp ranger
