Hi
I Have A Problem Locating The Correct Fasteners For The Stock Outside Mirrors On My 88 Ranger.i Assume The Hardware That Goes In The Doors Are Some Kind Of Well Nut,jack Nut Or Nutsert.but Does Anyone No Exactly What Goes In The Factory Holes?(.550 In Diameter) Any Brands, manufacturers Or Part Numbers Would Be Great.i Have New Mirrors And The Truck Came From The Body Shop Without The Fasteners In The Doors.thanks.

There is a plate that goes behind the mirror that you put the bolts into...if you go to a junkyard you should be able to pull a couple out of a similar model...

Are you using the small mirrors or the bracket mounted ones? I took the chrome mounted mirrors off because they were crap...think I still have all the hardware but I used the plate in the door to mount the smaller mirrors...

Mirror Location??

Hey, can anyone tell me where to mount the larger, chrome mirrors? I have the little 'sport' stock mirrors, which I think are crap. I lost the measurements off the door when I took this pair off, so any help would be greatly appreciated. I guess I really only need the distance to the first bolt hole center from the front of the door, and from where the glass comes into the door.

(How do you post pictures with this forum???? I made a drawing to show what measurement I was looking for, but can't figure out how to attach it? HELP!!)

If the doors had the sport mirrors stock then you should be able to use the same holes (I did the reverse) to mount the top of the chrome mirrors...just drill the holes for the lower mount point and fasten it to a similar plate as the top bracket...I'm pretty certain that the tops will match though...

As far as posting pics...not sure if you can without being a premium member...but there is a thread on posting pics in the General Topics...it's a sticky at the top...
