does anyone know of a camshaft for a 88 ford 2.3L engine that will improve torque and HP at low RPMS. i want a cam that adds torque and hp in a rev range that is from idle to a maximum of 3000 RPMS, ideally it would be a a rev range of 800-2500 RPMs

i was thinking about comp cams High Energy™, 240H http://www.compperformancegroupstores.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CC&Product_Code=70-115-6&Category_Code=70-CAM

does anyone typically know how much more torque this cam will add and also if this cam will improve or decrease MPGs?

does anyone know of a cam that will improve low RPM torque and HP and achieve the same or better MPGs as of that that is achieved with the stock cam.

finally if ignoring price and MPGs what cam would allow the most low RPM torque and HP in the rev range of idle to 3000 RPMs.

thanks in advance for all your advice, i really appreciate it

The 2.3 was used for YEARS in forklifts and other industrial appliations, and those will have a lower rpm cam as they are generally governed to 3000rpm or less. You might try a local fork lift shop to see if they know of a scrap truck with a 2.3...

get an adjustable cam gear and advance you cam by 6-8 degrees. You can get them through esslinger or needhp.com.
