What is the same on the 88 and 94 rangers? what could I get off of it to match up? Engine, Tranny? sending unit? ETC?

The same?! Almost nothing. Compatible if you get enough of the parts? Maybe as much as half the truck.

More information is needed... a lot of things could bolt in depending on what you are trying to do but might require more parts from the truck to make it easier...
I see you have an '88, so I'm guessing the '94 would be a donor. If they are both 4x4 the '94 has some better components, but depending on the setup on both would determine how "bolt on" the changes are...
The rear axle will bolt up between the two, although the '94 axle will be a little wider. The bed would bolt up but look funny...
