87 to 86 A4LD swap

Am looking to swap in an 86 A4LD for the 87 A4LD and need to know if there is any difference in the tranny or computer system,and if so what else would need to be swapped across.Thanks

You should have no issues with the proposed swap.

Infact if you stumbled across an '85 2.8 with an A4LD
(mid year switch from the C5) that trans would also work.

An '88 Ranger/Bronco2 with an A4LD would give you a nervous breakdown.

'88-up is a "Two solenoid" trans.

haha..nervous breakdown? But mine was from trying to troubleshoot this 2.9.Still haven't got it fixed but have enough in it and it still runs well enough to keep it on the road..if for no other reason than as a back-up vehicle,and a reason not to declare it a complete loss and waste of time! I mean hell,a guy wants to have something to show for a nervous breakdown other than missing patches of hair!
