87 Ford Ranger 2.9 wont start

Had a bad connection on battery cable change the ends put it back together it won't do nothing but spins and getting fuel getting fire I changed the fuel pump relay both pumps are running just spins need help

Is there a chance the engine is flooded ? Remove a spark plug and see if it is wet. If it is dry then try spraying starting fluid in through the intake while cranking it and see if it fires up.
