can anyone tell me how I can determine the float adjustment on a 2.0 liter carburetor. I think (from surfing) that my engine is the toyota engine. The truck actually is an 86 but the previous owner did an engine swap. He had taken the carb lid off to clean bowl and when it went back together I think the float lever was bent. Can anyone help please?

We'll need a little more information if possible. perhaps if you could post a picture of the motor and carb someone might recognise what it is.

In the '80s ford built a 2.0 engine for the Ranger. It is just a debored 2.3. It used a mikuni carb though. Those carbs are a royal pain to work on. Just make sure that the float is flat across the top when it is all the way up, Close enough.

They used a Mikuni too?

Odd, I've only seen the Aisan carbs. And they're no picnic to work on either.
