So I have no spark. just got the truck and have not seen how it runs, neighbor said it did last year though. I traced the wiring with a voltage meter. It is not getting power to the coil and the coil is also most likey bad. So I got a new coil ($18)

Can I run a wire from the battery to the new coil to just see if it will start? I tried this with the old coil and had not spark and the hot wire from the battery to the coil got hot. Does the wirign have to run through the module to create a spark?

How will I redo the old, corroded wiring?

any help is appreciated, I am new to the forum

you can run a hot wire, but if it doesnt run you need to check the distributor wiring.
