I wasn’t really sure where to post this but I’m rewiring my truck to be a push start so I bought a switch board I have no idea what I’m doing I’ve never messed around with circuitry at all… also my ignition switch column is a mess and I’m unable to remove it so I have to do it by the ignition switch underneath the steering column. I messed up somewhere and now it’s a mess and now I need advice lol please help

Welcome to TRS :)

I assume you mean you want to use a button on the dash to activate the starter motor
Not a full "push start/push stop" system like new vehicles have
That would require a small computer to activate and deactivate relays, so doable

Below are the wiring diagrams for 1998 Ranger
Ignition switch wiring is on bottom of page 2

There are 4 wires IN and 5 wires OUT, but one of the OUT wires is just for starter motor activation which can be handle with just a push button, its not high amps

The other 4 IN/OUT would need 4 30/40 amp 12v relays
The 4 relays would be activated with a "switch" and deactivated with same "switch", this can be a key switch, to prevent theft, or what ever you want

If you are not a "wiring guy" then you will be way better off replacing or rebuilding the column system

There is a typo on Page 1
The 2nd fuse top left is labeled Maxi Fuse 1 (50 amp), should be Maxi Fuse 5 (50 amp), it goes to ignition switch on page 2
