Two questions:
1. My truck while driving randomly cuts out, kinda "bucks" a few times then runs fine. Has a new fuel pump in tank. and recent tune up. I've jiggled the ignition switch, wont cut out.

2. Fuel gauge gives wrong readings? I've tried two different sending units in tank and no fix. Took it to local electrical shop to have it tested and they said all is fine. Got in it today read Full when i know it's got 1/4 tank according to my trip odometer. Called them back and they said the sending unit was sending a signal but they never tested the dash gauge? Whats next, try another instrument cluster from junk yard?

#1 My 88 stang did the same thing and it ended up being a bad o2 sensor and would randomly stutter then back fire

#2 make sure tank has GOOD CLEAN GROUND if that doesn't fix it its probably the gauge itself. Ford used to run a voltage limiter for the gauges(sat behind cluster with 9 volt type battery connections) but if the other gauges are reading correctly id say its the gauge

Thanks, I'll double check the tank ground. Anybody else?
