86 gen 1 sas build

The gauge pod is from autozone bu it was a mother to get on. I said f it and used some self tappers to make it stay. I couldn't find any place that looked good for the gauges so that was my last option.

i couldnt sleep so i went out to the garage and started sanding and painting.

My autozone only has the 2 guage one. Guess I will look for a 3 guage one online somewhere.

As for how it mounts, Im not looking for pretty, as long as it holds my guages and holds in place Im fine with using self tapping screws.

Definitely coming along nicely. The motor looks REALLY good for the milage and the pain scheme you went for!

thanks! its been hell getting it there but worth it. hopefully i can start tearing the old suspension out and geting the new stuff in. only a few more things left to gather!:icon_bounceblue:

i just got off the phone with the scrapyard near me and he says he has a mechanical 1354 that he'll get rid of for $250. seems steep but i really want to do a doubler so hopefully he will hold it till the 27th for me till i get payed.
that is unless somebody close has one the can part with!

Down payment of some kind may garentee that it stays there.

I payed $250 for a np435 and its transfercase, np208. So ya it does seem a bit steep.

I love the paint job man. I've thought about doin mine that way a million times. Ill be watchin the build to see how the sas goes.

Great work man, keep it up! Im looking forward to your axle swap, cause I'm a little hesitant right now in doing something like that to my truck. LoL

that's high IMO...

also, you do know your rear(i think) (one of the) t/case could be an electric right?

86mudracer....
thanks! i do get some strange looks from people driving down the road.

ktm raptor.....
thanks! im loosing lots of sleep trying to cover all my bases before i start taking my truck apart. i cant wait until i get everything together to start.

4.0b2
im trying to stay away from electrics unless i buy new but im on a budget and i just dont trust em.

i know it seems high for the tcase but i just cant find anything around where im at.

transfercase out!

I've been loosing sleep over this friggin ranger. I finially found a place where I can get a transfercase with a u pull it and half price wednesdays. Yay! So wed I'm going to pull the 1354 and get started on this doubler. Tonight I pulled the 1350 out and cleaned it up. Now its just waiting on Wednesday to go get my parts. The wifey works in a machine shop and one of the machinists said he'd do it so the sector shaft should be a sinch. If everything goes together and its worth it I might have a bunch made.
On another note I think I might start the sas this coming weekend. It really bothers me when my trucks all in peaces but its gotta get done.

250$ is the going rate around here. i lucked out and got a whole parts explorer for 50$ that had one in it. ive been on the hunt for another ever since but have yet to come across one for the price im willing to pay.
