Got my "new" Explorer 8.8 (already setup for a spring over) last weekend. I would say it is a safe bet you can guess what truck this came out of...

I am getting the parts to convert this axle to disc brakes this weekend:006: Bye bye drums!

rear disc ftw!

btw, welcome back :icon_twisted:

oh and did you get my e-mail and feel bad for me at all?

what axle did that diff. cover come off of. I was told exp. 01 or newer had drain plugs that will work on the ranger. but All i found was indepent rears that used the diff cover to help hold the diff in place.

welcome back, and i still love the build!

The diff cover came off an '01+ Explorer. You have to trim the ears off the cover and it will be fine. It is actually deeper than the stock Ranger cover. You will also have to plug a hole in the top of the cover.

I don't know if I am doing a SAS now. Funds got tight since my parents both lost their jobs. I need to help them out till they can get on their feet.

This is a weekend and first of the week update. Maurice picked up leaf spring bushings on Friday, but didn't get to do much because of a balloon glow in town we went to (ofcourse our significant others wanted to go; who are sisters BTW).

With the poly bushings, you have to remove the factory metal sleeve.

Yesterday after work Maurice got her on the ground and driving...The u-bolts are 5/8" diameter rod because the shop didn't have any 1/2" rods. I drilled out the spring plates to accept the bigger u-bolt. Maurice will be ordering a new spring plate set soon.

She is setting pretty level now. The ride and the driving with the 4.56 gears and 31's:cool: I drove it last night and it is awsome!

The rear end right now sticks out about 3/4"-1" more than the front with the Explorer 8.8 installed. By the end of next month he will have a Ranger Dana 35 up front, so that will help.

Because he is banned. I am a buddy of his who has helped him do almost all the work to his Bronco II.

I believe he's married to MJONES's wife's sister?

Anyhow, I just read this entire thread from beginning to end and I must say: What a hell of a job you guys have done to that BII!

I honestly cannot believe someone would say "picture posting whore". I think it's awesome to see visually what has been done to this rig. All I can say is "Keep Up The Good Work Guys"!

Why was he banned?

Allen

I am dating Maurices fiancé's sister.

I think he was banned for calling members who were wrong out that they were wrong and when they would get hostile, so would he.
