86 B2 Fuel Pressure from pump

Im swapping in a fuel cell into my 86 b2, Its being built as a rock crawler with also being setup for jumping/prerunning.

I am trying to find the appropriate fuel pump to get for it and im struggling to find the fuel pressure from the HP pump on the rail.

This rail pump says it runs at 44psi,

This one and the spectra operate between 72 and 116 psi...

I have seen two people say 65 psi, but I havent been able to prove that either...I know the Fuel Pressure regulator is 35-45 psi fuel rail pressure, but I dont want to over pressurize the inlet side.

Anyone have any information?
 
86 lift pump would be about 5 to 8 psi. The high pressure is about 40 psi. The rail pump from a f150 of the same era will work. I've found that the electrical contacts are loose on a lot of the rail pumps, giving symptoms of a failing pump. Always check the connectors before tossing a pump.

I would shoot for something that can produce 40 to 50 PSI. That is about where all of mine have always sat with the regulator unhooked from vacuum, which should dead-head the line.
 
Awesome thanks guys. Eventually in the future the truck will get a 5.0 HO engine as it will almost bolt to my built c5. So I want to have everything semi easier to swap over when the time comes.

The f150 rail pump has the same part number, I would have never thought that haha.

Im probably going to get a holly pump for the application.
 
I would bet the f250 and f350 are the same too. The rail pump on my 1989 ford rv [f350 frame] is the same too.
 
If you can gravity feed that pump, you don't even need a lift pump in your fuel cell. Or even locating it as close to the tank as possible might be OK. Our offroad race truck just has a generic 50psi pump about 2 hose feet away from the fuel cell and it supplies the 302 just fine, even pulling from the top of the fuel cell. I think as long as you don't have a pump that supplies really excessive pressure you'll be fine, as ADSM said 40-50 would be idea as your FPR will knock it down to whatever it needs.
