hay guys im picking up a 86 ranger in GA and driving it up to MN in June. found out there is a hole in the air box and want to get it replaced, how do i know if its the air box with the heat shield or not? have a line on one of each at a salvage yard but not sure what one is on the truck.

thanks for the help guys.

Shouldnt matter either one will get it home.

If you’re talking about the gadget with the two vacuum lines going to it on the air box cover, you can get the one without it and drill the holes into after if yours has that. I did that with my 87 Ranger. The cover I found at a junkyard did not have the vacuum lines going to it, so I drilled them in the cover for mine.
