hey all ! new hear having some trouble with my lill DaNgEr RaNgEr.......... i have an 86 2.9 4x4 with a 5spd . i got the truck for free but ther was a catch!! the clutch makes a horible grinding squeal noise but only when i push the clutch pedal in ! when i release it the sound completly goes away and to make matters more complicated the previous owner said it just got a new clutch, preasure plate and throwout bearing .
the clutch works , no slippage and the truck goes through the gears great ! im already thinkin i will have to drop the trans and explore further ...... any ideas welcome . thanks .

I would would have to say I think it would be the throw out bearing (when you push the clutch in, there is pressure on the bearing, and if it is bad, it will make noise). That is ignoring the fact that the previous owner states it has a those new parts. If that is true, then my guess would be that the clutch/ slave cycleder was put together/ installed wrong?

well today i will be tearing the trans out to see what carnage i can find ...... i am hoping that its just a throw out bearing since thats cheep and easy to fix .. wish me luck ! and ill try to take some pixxxx .

i got the trans , tcase , driveshafts out and i found out that there was only 3 bolts holding the trans to engine . and the trans was sagging down away from the block and the drive shaft only had 2 bolts and damn near every bolt under the truck was loose !!!! so who ever did this clutch last was a sure f**k up :annoyed: anyway today ill be getting a new throw out bearing since thats the only part thats worn . definatly has a new clutch plate and pressure plate and the flywheel . so im sure ive figuerd out why it made squilling sounds .
