I bought a 86 ranger last year and when I was driving down the Highway it just quit running. I coasted to the side of the road and let it sit for about 5 min and it started back up. I didn't have any issues until about two months ago and it start doing it again. This time it did it a couple of time. When it sits on the side of the road it will crank but not start lie it isn't getting any fuel, then off she goes. I let one of my mechanic friend have for a week and he couldn't find anything wrong (of course). Has anybody else had this problem? He said that it might be the fuel pump going bad. I found out I have two, if it is the pump any idea which one??
