So we have been working on a buddy's truck for a while now. He has a 86 2.3 range and put a 86 turbo coupe motor in it. We are having hellish probs with wiring. What exact wires do I have to move and what wires do I have to ad to what pin? Any info would be great thank you!

Forgot to add we are using the 86 ranger harness and tc computer

Best bet is to get both diagrams (I think relevant drawings are in the tech library under one of the turbo swap pages) and compare pins

You will have to add the VAM, knock sensor and boost control wires and do a couple splices for them, other than that it should just be moving like 5 wires in the ECM, don't remember which one off the top of my head though

If you can figure out what wires go where and what pins neees moved you would be my hero cuz I guess we ain't doin something right. You can text me if u want also 717-303-9579 thank you

http://www.stinger-performance.com has some really good tech articles, get a good pinout/wiring diagram for your truck, and get after it. I took two pinout diagrams for the processor(donor processor and truck processor, listed all of the pins by number in two columns and started making the plug look like the processor, noting the colors of the wires. I made the 2 columns to keep my thinking straight, and then you have a wirecolor diagram when you are done for your own documentation.

on an '86 Ranger you are swapping in a turbo coupe engine?

You are more than likely "overthinking the plumbing"

The information you need is that you must go out and BUY an EVTM manual for a 1986 Ranger and for the Year Turbocoupe you are using as a donor then after careful study of both you will realize that other from a copule of wires that you must move to different connector pins in the 60pin EEC connector there are only four or five wires that you must add.

MOSTLY you use the stock ranger stuff because it is identical and goes more or less to the same places on the engine.

The Differences?
The BAP (Barometric Absolute Pressure) replaces the Ranger MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) directly

The Idle Air Control (a Solenoid) (IAC) is relocated from the Airbox to the Throttle body

The Knock sensor is THE SAME.

Ignition system is THE SAME

The Boost Control Solenoid (BCS) can be IGNORED/Deleted

And basically what must be added are the four or five wires from the Vane Air Meter (VAM)

Other than making the exhaust pipes fit this swap isn't exactly rocket science.

Our problem is where not getting fuel. The pumP runs and if we spray starting fluid in the tb it will try. Would any of the tc sensors not being hookEd up right do that? I think too we are over thinkin it, it has to be somethin simple.

Ok so everything is wired. But the problem is we are not getting fuel out of the injectors we hav psi at the rail. We check to see if injectors were getting power and all of them were getting power at there plugs on both sides of it. This motor ran in the tc a year ago so I know injectors are good?????

R U getting spark?

im a thinkin their related:dunno:

Any ideas on what I might have screwed up

Does the fuel pump run for 2 seconds when you turn the key to ON?
If you ground pin 22 does the FP run?

you say you have constant voltage on one side of the injectors.
Have you put a test light on the other side to see if the grounding side is pulsing?
Check the injector wiring harness and it's 4 pin connector. These are a favorite munching spot for mice.

unplug the TPS. If it thinks it's at WOT it shuts off the injectors.

We need a LOT more info to go on. Why don't you post EVERYTHING you've done.
