It's a work of art. Wish we'd had more time to check it out.

Then they had a little Lego thing setup. You build your guy (mainly pick out the head and headgear) and then they had scenes set up with the Ford Lego sets so you could take pictures of them. I didn't get around a whole lot of the show but I think Ford had about the most interactive exhibit there between this, the Bullitt thing and the Ranger simulator.

I feel like it deserves a central display location inside at Detroit, since it has parts from almost every make of vehicle, and a few that Bobby made himself.

The plan was to pull it in front of the hotel (a former Ritz Carlton, complete with a doorman wearing a tophat) and get a photo of the group of us in front of the truck. Unfortunately we ran out of time and never got the shot.

Also, I don't think you'll get it in a museum because he refuses to stop driving it. Something like 1.3 million miles on the frame at this point.

Here's our drivers waiting for us at the airport and wondering where we're at. I thought it was cool that they sent a driver for each of us, and not just a passenger van. We told them we'd just share a vehicle to the hotel.

That's really funny - I actually did get a ride over in a Ford Transit van.

That deicer looks awesome. Reminds me of an AT-ST walker from Star Wars. A lot neater than the one in Omaha, coming home I didn't get a window seat so I couldn't see what was going on. As near as I could tell we taxied to Chicago and took off from there. We were 45min late taking off, the pilot must have pushed her past the stops because we got to Omaha on time :icon_confused:

New diesel for the F-150, I think Bobby is pretty excited about getting one for his truck. :icon_thumby:

I really, really hope that whoever wrote the errant 10 speed transmission info had been involved in testing it behind the 3.5 for Ranger use. It gives me hope!

The more I keep looking at this Ranger, the more I want it! I just wish it was the Lariat with leather.

Good catch, I totally missed that!

Me too. I like cloth... but I like the Lariat grille better than the XLT. It looked ok at the show but the XLT grille doesn't come across very well in Ford's photos.

Anyway more pics:

I wish the stupid bar wsn't there. :annoyed:

Did some peeking over the fence... really didn't feel much bigger inside than my '85. :icon_thumby:

For advertising an offroad vehicle... Mercedes has a certain way with words... without using words.
