85 Shifter

Hello Everyone, I just bought this 1985 2WD Ranger for my daughter. It has the FI 2.3 with a standard tranny. My mechanic says it needs the shifter replaced. Is there another alternative to part # E7TZ7210S? It's over $200 even on eBay. It looks like it is made out of plastic.
Thanks in advance. I'm sure I'll be asking a lot more questions.

I can answer my own question now. I found a place that sells that part for $160. Not great but much better than my local dealer.

Is it a mitsiushi trans, 4bolt shifter, or a mazda trans which has a 3 bolt shifter. I have 6 rangers with the mitsibushi trans and may could help you if that it.

I already bought and installed the shifter but thanks anyway.

I was looking for an aftermarket alternative but no luck.

i have a fm145 tranny that needs the shifter replaced as well i have 3in of slop in it do you still have any mitsu shifters ??
