85 Ranger Clutch

The clutch on my 85 ford ranger is out. I've done clutches before, but if there's any little things that can help they would be appreciated. Also, is there any specific part store you'd recommend me getting an entire clutch assembly from? I want to be thorough, that way I don't have to do it again for a good while

I have had really good luck with the NAPA clutch sets, since they are made by LUK which makes the OEM clutches for Ford.

Make sure you do the slave, if you have an internal slave cylinder.

x2 make sure you replace the slave even if it aint leaking. take it from someone that has done that dumb mastake before. I replaced my clutch in my 89 and the slave looked good so i just put a disk ,pressure plate and pilot bearing in and in about 2 weeks had to re do everything cause slave blew and sprayed the clutch with brake fluid . Also when you replace the slave make sure you bleed it well and have fresh clean fluid comming out it might take awhile it took me forever to get it all flushed and bleed .

I will definitely be going through napa, I've known the guys there for awhile from my dad and they're cool guys. So I might as well ask, does anyone have any good videos I could watch on replacing a clutch for an 85 ranger

1985 would have the external clutch slave cylinder, so you could swap it out now, or any time down the road, be sure to get a torque wrench and torque all the flywheel/clutch pressure plate bolts to the factory spec's, also, most clutch disk's have a ''this side to flywheel'' mark on one side, so be sure to put that side to the flywheel
