I got a brand new tank and sending unit out of a 88 b2 and it has a four wire connection and an in tank pump on it. My original, which is rusty as heck has a two wire connection and just a pickup tube and float. I have the connector off the new tank with about four inches of wire and i noticed that two of the wires matched the two on the original. I'm assuming the two are four the gauge, one being a ground and the other being a sensor wire. On the four wire, can i just splice the two matching colors and butt end the other two as they are probably power for the pump? Can i pull the fuel through the pump without issues? Thanks. I just got this bronc and it had a rusted out tank, so im just trying to get her running for now.
