ok, so i'm pretty much hung up on the vacuum lines with my 2.3 and i've come to the conclusion that my 87 has an 84 motor in it. i was wondering if anyone could post some pictures of the vac lines or post an 84 diagram.

i havn't been able to find anything to copy off at the junk yard.

Where you the one having difficulty accessing the library link? I'm pretty sure there is a vac diagram there, but I haven't checked lately...if so, then maybe someone else has a pic for you...

The older they get, the less likely that someone has an original setup...meaning you may need to consider a modification that is more in tune with eliminating the emission controls and settle for a vehicle that runs and is not saddled by excessive systems...

ya the library didn't work on my computer for some reason. i went to ford to get a diagram but they havn't gotten back to me. i had the truck running and idling decently and started messing around with the lines but nothing special happened.

The only vacuum lines my 88 has left on it is for the power brakes, and the pcv valve, I did away with all the other useless vacuum lines.

Yes, and I remember the pics you posted of your setup...it was very clean...even cleaner than mine...do you have a pic you could show for this thread because I think it might help him make a decision...i'd post mine but it's complicated compared to yours...

wow. thats possible? if your truck runs properly then post up a pic!!! i'd love to check that out seeing how i dont even have power brakes or anything.

i want to go with the minimalist theme beacuse it is only a bush truck and 2wd at that so i want to be able to repair it easily on the road.

By popular demand, engine pics of my daily driver complete with dust, and such from dirt roads.

thats nice. i guess ford doesn't have diagrams that far back at the dealer i went to. o well. i got it running nice this weekend. somewhere along the road i got the wires crossed for the plugs. so now it runs well but theres still a mess of vaccume hoses and wires all over.
