Hey nice rig! Its rare to see 84s still driving nowa days. And such a youngin doin all the work on it. (I'm only 17) :thefinger:
So what gearing are you running on those 33" tires? I had some 32"s on mine (An 84 Ranger 2.8L 4x4) But that little engine wasn't turning those 32s so I had to put some 29s on it.

I had a 2.8 4speed with 32s and it couldn't get out of its own way.

Now it's the same truck but with a 5.0.

Yeah It was horrible! I'm now just trying to find a bronco or something with good axles and gearing to swap out.

im running 4:56s, if i had a 4 or 5 speed id have dropped down to 4:10s or so

No, it had 3:55s or something, then I swapped axles to a Dana 30/35 with 3:73s and now it's got a HPdana 30 and a Chrysler 8.25 inch with 4:56s

Damn son! Where are you getting all this!? What did you do with the bed light bar that was on it?

I was given a d30 and d35 with 4.56 gears and a Detroit in the d35 but parted out the d35 and swapped 3.73s into the d30 and did a SAS to my truck with it.

the first swap was out of a grand cherokee that i got for like $400 bucks then parted out for $500, then the current axles i bought off of my buddy, the 8.25 inch has an aftermarket posi... and i still have the lightbar, its just sitting in my scrap pile

Ohh ok. I was offered International Scout II axles but I have heard that those are super hard to find good stuff for.
Well are you gonna do anything with the bed bar?

nope! actually im trying to sell all of the tubing i made too...

Do you know where Fresno is? Yeah it's all good DOM and if you have a long bed I'll show you exactly what I did to make it fit... Im also trying to get rid of those stretched fenders I made! They need a bit of work to get back into good shape but I'd throw em in with the cage

Yeah ok. I live in Frazier Park. Which is between Santa Clarita and Bakersfield. So i'm a ways off. but maybe I can figure out a way to get them. :icon_thumby:
I just have a regular bed so it should fit normally right?
