I would imagine since thats TTB on the front that the front axle is a Dana 50. Thats about all I know.

dana 50 front and sterling rear

I know it's hard to tell, but the front and rear are factory leaf spring straight axles. You can see the front leaf springs in the first two pics....

Leaf springs don't belong on a TTB (not sure what the hell Ford was thinking :icon_confused:  )

Also, the Sterling rear did not come out until around '86 or '87. The axle pictured above looks to be a Dana70.

Good call junkie! I didn't even look at the pic, just assumed it would be a sterling.

See what happens when you ASSume things?

j/k

Its a dana 70 rear. Sterlings don't have a fill plug in the cover. That should be a great dana 70 though. I believe that year came with 35 spline rear shafts factory.

BTW the trans should be a T19 4spd and I should have a BW1356 tcase

Hell of a find there. Now get her out of that barn and back to life any way you can.

I thought Ford didnt use the 13-56 until '87. An '84 should have the 208 or the 13-45.

I thought my 84 had a 1356....but I guess I stand corrected...so what differences are there between the 56 & 45??? Maybe a fixed rear output vs slip-yoke? That's about all I can spot.
