I have been doing some searches and not finding the answer that I need. My truck currently has the factory 1 brl carb on it and it just plain sucks. I have a Weber DGV that I want to install on it. I read about a conversion someone did but they started with a 2 brl intake and made an adapter. I have found no adapter for the 1 brl. I also read that you can use a EFI intake and get an adapter for that. I went to the U-pull and found a few intakes, but backed out because I know the head was changed at some point and did not want to get the wrong part. What intake would I need to look for? All the ones I saw were 1 gen trucks, but they had 8 plug heads. Thanks

There are a few options for intakes...Kenneth S put together a really good post about this and you might want to read through that...

My preference is the E1Z1 stock intake with a 2 barrel carb...because I have one now and it works great...

Are you looking to replace the head and intake or just the intake? Are you going to use a 1bbl carb or two? All of that is doable...and you can mix and match parts from certain years if necessary...like round port heads with oval port intakes...or vice versa...not the best solution but it works...

I want to swap out the stock carb for a Weber DGV. I need to be able to mount it and my current manifold is a 1 brl. I would like to put a 2 brl manifold on it or use an EFI manifold and the adapter.
Where can I find more info about this Kenneth S post and the E1Z1?

Since your engine has the round intake port head the E1Z1 intake manifold would have a intake port mismatch. I have seen a couple of 1 to 2 barrel adaptors used, and seemed to work ok (it looks weird thou), but not as good as a 2 brl intake. But if you want to have the most power you can search some salvage yards in your area you could find a 1987-88 Ranger 2.0L 2 brl intake, then get a adaptor plate, and put a Holley, or Motorcraft 2 brl on it.

Here's a pic of a 1987-88 round port intake manifold.

crazy- I think the adapter setup with the weber carb you were looking @ was mine but if you can find the manifold kenneth showed you then you could run a weber with it and this adapter. http://www.carburetion.com/Weber/invtocartweber.asp?Part1=99004.250
this shop is in auburn which is about 45 miles from you. also if you need to pass emissions get the correct carb don't try to make one work unless you know how.
Sorry if I seem like I am talking down to you. I am not trying to be rude just extra informative.

2.3l intake

I found a intake for my 2.3l on ebay. You could bolt on a stock motorcraft model 2150 2bbl. right to it. I looked under the mini stock parts reference. Hope this was helpful, Mike
