ok, I did a 3.73 limited slip 8.8 rearend swap from a 91 4x4 truck the other week. just got finished with some other stuff to put it back on the ground today.
yes, I know the 83-92 axles are shorter by 1" on each side. too bad this was an 8.8" rear and 3.73 limited slip and 10" drums oh...and free too lol.
perfect to replace my 7.5 3.73 open rearend with 9" brakes for towing my boat for the price!
so on it went. I also decided to put the wheels/tires from one of my foxbody cars on it as they have sat since new on the car and were in danger of dryrotting if not used...and I needed tires anyway on the truck so WIN!
I ground the rotor hats down so there's no spacers up front either...stock track width. wheels are 17x8 front (245/45) and 17x9 back (275x40)
anyway, with my wheel combo it retains proper track width and plenty of clearance to the springs. and yeah, I know it needs a drop badly but its only a $800 beater, dont wanna put too much money in it haha.
