OK, this truck sat for 10 years untouched before I got it, but it ran/drove perfect when it was parked. '83 2.8 V6 5spd (aluminum rectangular pan) 4x4 man. shift.
When the truck is in neutral I can push the clutch in and it feels fine, and there it no noise at all, not even through out bearing noise.
When the truck is in gear, ANY gear, and I push in the clutch it makes a tinny thrashing grinding sound that varies with where the clutch pedal is pushed in to. The trans. sounds fine, and moves the truck down the road smooth when I'm not on the clutch. It's very hard to shift, and I cant shift into 1st unless the truck is rolling. It feels like the clutch works the best right in the middle of the pedal travel, it feels like the clutch "goes away" if I push the pedal to the floor, but it will not shift at all if I don't push it to the floor.

Any one dealt with something like this before? I drained the gear oil out and filled it with ATF thinking the the sinceros might be seized up from sitting for so long. Helped a little, but now it's just getting worse.
Oh yeah, it had a shifter problem on day 2 of trying to drive it: the shift rod for 1st/2nd AND the shift rod for 3rd/4th wound up the forward most position at the SAME time. Not even sure how it happend, and has not happened again since.
HELP
