this is my dads old bazooka tube. it has a 200 watt amp built in. its last home was our 92 bronco that we sold. i'm wondering where the best place to run the wires and hook them up. obviously i have R/R and L/R speaker wires. i dont want them to just hang out though. how could i run them to the tube but be hidden. also i have power, which needs to come on with the radio not constant, one that says remote, and ground. not sure about the blue remote wire. where would be the best place to hook up these other wires so i don't have to run the wires far or out in the open

Is that where and the position you are mounting it? I'm a big fan of wire loom. I'd throw those puppies in some wire loom and take it over to the center console and up from there.

I've also seen people cut holes in their carpet and run it under there. I personally don't care for that though.

Firstly, I would switch the other way round than it is in the picture, I had a 12" Fusion active enclosure tube as my first sub system in the Ranger I had, and the wiring coming out of the amp being right next to a trim panel helped make the wiring discreet.

The wiring will be well hidden, shouldnt need loom to cover it up at all. It is a good idea (but not really a must) to run the power wire and signal wire and RCA under the carpet on opposite sides of the cab to prevent electrical interference. That beign said, my Ranger had all of it running on the driver's side and I never had an issue and mine was drawing more power than yours. So did the system I had after.

having it facing the other way makes sense but from what ive heard tubes perform best if the speaker is right against something

I had a tube, having it face the other way is a good way to go. The sound bounces off the other side of the cab and radiates everywhere else. You might feel a little more vibration having it face the way it is now (which I'm kinda doubting), but the sound will project a hell of alot better firing the other way and it solves your visual wiring issue.

i'm keeping it the way i have it. i would have needed longer wires had i turned it the other way. i ended up running the right speaker wire under the rug right next to it all the way behind the pull down seat and up through a hole into the speaker bay. the left speaker wire just runs under the sub, under that plastic piece under the seat, behind the seat, and up through the hole to the speaker. the rest run under the sub too, and then up alongside the door to the fuse box. i'll get pictures when everything is squared away

ok. so i hae a question. i have constant power to the battery, switch to the fuse box and the other ones where they need to be. it doesnt really have that much kick to it. my dad used to have his hooked up after his amp so he basically had 2 amps running it. how could i hook it up to get power from the factory amp

It doesn't have much kick because it's an 8" active enclosure. Preloaded stuff usually isn't high powered, tubes even less so from my experiences. Before you wire any more power to it I'd suggest looking up the specs of the sub to make sure you don't blow it. The whole point of a preloaded enclosure is it's already powered adequately for that sub and is a ready-to-instal package.

It's because you are using a low input rather than a high input. Have you messed with the subwoofer settings in the deck? Mine has quite a wide range of output. You might also try reversing the phase and seeing if it sounds better.

i turned down the settings in the deck for the speaks to take some of the load out and save them untill i get new ones. would that still effect the sub?

my dad used to have it hooked up after his amp though, so i dont think its gonna blow. and this will only be the factory amp. his was a good one
