Hey all

SO in the process of re-gearing my ranger over the weekend I had a donor 8.8 from my long scrapped '91 Ranger STX and I was intending on keeping the axle shaft for spares and then I found that the bearing surface was better on the '91 axle so I installed the driver side to find it was about 1-1 1/2" short and same for the pass side axle shaft:icon_confused:. I guess I had never heard or figured that a ranger 8.8 would differ from old to new at least until it went to the FX4 in the '00s

Yep, same except that in '93' the Rangers went to a wider rear end by the 1" per side. Believe they kept the same width as the '93 till present so finding axles or a rear ought to be easy.
