8.8 Paint and Primer?

hey guys whats the best most cost effective paint and primer to use to paint my 8.8 that im swapping to my ranger? id imagine roll on as opposed to spray right? let me know what u guys use that holds up thanks!

When i repainted the Bronco axles i just use a rattle can and went at it. makes for easier touch up when the time comes

ive never had good experiences with spray paint holding up at all...i was thinking a spray on primer and a roll on rustoleum?

Get yourself a can of rubberized undercoating, that stuff is tough as nails when it dries, its always held up really well for me.

i just used rustoleum flat black and applied quite a few generous coats. still isn't really holding up to the rocks ect of fourwheeling. i got no paint right behind the drum backing plates because i had to bleed the brakes on a trail once and didn't have a hose for the bleeder so i just let it spray.

i used 99 cent black spray paint from walmart. spray paint will stick if you prep the surface corectly. well if i rub off some paint when while off road i lay on some 99 cent black again. its not that big of a deal...... its a rear axle sand it good knock the rust off and spray with some 99 cent black. call it a day

The absolute best is por-15, but the price and availability are a problem. Rustoleum works good. Ive personally been using Krylon Rust Tough....works well for spray paint. Just take a wire wheel on your drill and clean it up some. You can use it with primer or without. With primer it gets pretty thick and looks like it will protect alot longer.
