8.8 or???

i'm running a 302 with 400hp on the spray and a c4 with a very firm shift kit. stock 8.8 explorer axle is holding up fine for the last 2 years. also turning over 39" boggers.

The 31 spline 8.8 is just about as strong as a 9".

Only thing really better about a 9" is all the aftermarket support people mentioned. You can get a high-pinion setup and 35-spline shafts. :headbang:

Ok sasquatch here is what i found. I didnt get a chance to look at it before i left for work but i looked at it when i got home earlier. the axle tube is the same size allthe way into the pumpkin, also the c-clip eliminator removes the bearings and seals from the axle tube itself. The new bearings and seals are enclosed in the c-clip eliminator and gets pressed onto the 31 spline shaft, and the other end gets press'd onto the axle tube so the bearings and seals do not go inside the axle tube, so what im wondering is, how could it not work with the c-clip eliminator kit seeing as the bearings and seals do not get installed into the axle itself rather on the outside of the tube?
