A bit confused on what the proper nut torque is on a new install of the pinion bearings and the new crush sleeve. at the moment i have it tightened down to 90/lbs but I think I need to go more to fully crush the new sleeve. everything is new except the pinion gear, the ring, and the carrier.

I have read were it should go down to around 200/lbs. ?

open carrier with limited slip spider 28 spline if this makes any difference.

thanks

It's been a while but there isn't a certain torque, you need around 13 inch pounds of rolling resistance on the pinion, so tighten the crush down until it takes 13 inch pounds to keep the pinion moving, when I say keep that means not to initially start rotation but to keep rotation, hope this helps

thanks, i will check that after work tomorrow to see where it is at. my guess is pretty close to that.
