would a 8.8 with disk brakes of a late 90s expoder be full width?

Nothing in a ranger, bII or explorer was full width.

The Explorer axle is slightly wider than a Ranger axle however, about 1.5".

According to everything I've read, the explorer 8.8 is 1.5" wider than the Ranger. The 8.8 will make the rear wider to make the rear match the track f the front. By the way, I'm restoring my 1979 Power Wagon Macho that I bought new.

I couldn't begin to tell you how much fun I've had in that truck. It has lasted through 3 wives. Thanks for the offer Powerwagon, I may need a 26" radiator support.
