just bought a 2000 xtra cab, 2.5 ltr, 5 speed.
going to use it for a everyday driver, previous owner put 31's on it and i have access to a 8.8 rear end that would replace the 7.5 rear end. Does anyone know if this would help my mpg? or gain power? also if 8.8's are recomended, anyone know what gears would make the truck like it had stock tire size? thiis 8.8 rear end is out of a 1997 mazda, im sure it will work, mostly concerned about gearing right now.:icon_confused:

4.56:1 is a good ratio for 31" tires on that engine.
