Does anyone have a technical diagram with the specs of '99 explorer 8.8 axle shafts? I plan to order Dutchman shafts, but they ask for dimensions. I'd rather not pull mine just to measure em/replace em/ then pull em again when the new shafts come in.

Here's their order form so you know what info I need.

Thanks

Why don't you just order those shafts from a supplier for that axle? I'm sure they've built them for that axle before.

I need them made with a 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern to match my D44 front. There's other manufacturers that will do it without asking the specs, but these guys are ~100 bucks cheaper than anything I've found.

Call up dutchman. Tell them you want a set of explorer 8.8 shafts with 5x5.5" pattern. It shouldn't be that hard. Just remember that you will have to do something to get your brakes to work. IE redrilling your rotors.

Actually fullsize 8.8 brake parts will bolt right up to explorer axles, granted they're drums though. They're also alot bigger and they're factory 5x5.5.

I have them on my explorer 8.8, I was going to redrill them 5x4.5 and call it good.

You guys are killin me. I called Dutchman, they don't do phone or email orders. Hard paper orders only, whether that be by fax or snail mail.

I need the explorer size shafts with 5 on 5.5 pattern. That way the axles will fit my explorer housing and I'll have matching patterns front and rear.

As for the rotors, yes, I plan to redrill them. I've got a pattern checking gauge that should work well as a template. For the record though, Currie sells new rotors drilled to your specified bolt pattern, if one would rather not redrill. 70 bucks a pop

Now that we've got that cleared up, anyone with the axle specs?

So....if you can wait until friday I have a set sitting on a shelf I can measure up for ya....
