79 bronco coil buckets and putting them on an 84 Ranger. The passenger side frame rail is fine and i was successful but the drivers side looks odd. The frame rail isnt flat due to the steering box brace. Anybody do this before? Any tips or pics on how you did yours?

*I am hoping to accomplish this because ive heard it fixes the coil bowing problem and so the EB coils fit in there nicely.

I used the 78-79 coil buckets on my 95 F150 for my sas. i know i know its not a rbv but the concept is the same. i dont know the pre 98 frames very well but what i did on my 150 was put the bucket on the frame flat then slid it as far forward as i could. When I hit the steering box support on my frame I stopped there and mounted it. that put it 1" forward of the stock location.

try that but measure before you mount it to see if it ends up at the stock location or forward. you may have to remount your passenger side bucket. if you do all that and dont like where it ends up plate the outside of your frame on both sides (to keep same width) then mount them where you want them

I have stock Bronco II buckets with an EB axle, no spring bow

why do some ppl get alot of spring bow and others dont? I have heard the more lift the more the axle shifts to the drivers side..must be how the tracbar is set up.

any pics of 79 bronco buckets installed? Anybody have problems with the diff hitting the crossmember since the buckets are up higher than stock? I am going to be running 5.5 Deaver coils which are quite long, maybe i wont have any problems.

these aren't 79 bronco buckets but this is how i modified my 66-77 bronco buckets. i shortened them so they would be the same height as the factory ranger buchets and then notched the drivers side to account for the frame. one on the left is modified right is not.

thanks for the pic. I may end up cutting my buckets shorter if i have diff clearance problems at flex, we will see.
