77 F250 400/C6

This morning pulling into work i heard a horrid knocking noise coming from the passenger side bellhousing area...it started just this morning, oil pressure on the factory gauge was normal (it actually seems to read properly unlike the later gauges)

It sounds like someone hitting a plastic barrel with their hand. It also goes away promptly in park or neutral.

Could it be a torque converter? Up untill a week or so ago id get a real loud buzzing noise in park and neutral, but go away in gear, i was also having slow engagement. The fluid looked good but was way low. (2 qts).

I have noticed sometimes it engages a bit hard as well, and seems to shift mushy sometimes, sometimes hard, and it has a bit of shudder on accleration till about 5 mph, occasasionly, as well in reverse.

Never had a TC fail before so im kinda in the dark here...

input?

Never mind, i feel like an idiot. Its something rattleing under the dash. All mechanicals seem to be spinning silently.

It quit making it by the time i got home.

Guess its part of the dentside charm
